The Cure closed out Corona Capital in Mexico City on November 19, 2023 with a headline set at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.
Shot for Live4ever Media, this gallery captures The Cure in full festival-headliner mode: dark, cinematic, patient, and completely absorbing. Robert Smith has a way of holding a massive crowd without ever making it feel overplayed. Even at festival scale, the songs still feel intimate.
The set opened with “Alone” and moved through a long, atmospheric run that included “Pictures of You,” “High,” “A Night Like This,” “Lovesong,” “Burn,” “Fascination Street,” “Charlotte Sometimes,” “Push,” “In Between Days,” “Just Like Heaven,” “A Forest,” “From the Edge of the Deep Green Sea,” and “Endsong.”
The encores stretched even deeper, with “It Can Never Be the Same,” “Want,” “Plainsong,” “Disintegration,” “Lullaby,” “The Walk,” “Friday I’m in Love,” “Close to Me,” “Why Can’t I Be You?,” and “Boys Don’t Cry.”
There is something very specific about photographing The Cure. The drama is obvious, but the real magic is in the restraint: the stillness, the shadows, the slow build, and the way Robert Smith can turn a festival field into something that feels suspended in time.
