Fontaines D.C. brought their USA Tour 2025 to The Agora in Cleveland, Ohio on May 8, 2025, and the room had that good kind of pressure to it. Not chaos exactly. More like a band fully locked into their own weather system, with Grian Chatten pulling the centre of gravity wherever he wanted it to go.
Shot for Live4ever Media, this gallery captures Fontaines D.C. mid-swing: restless, sharp, romantic in the doomed little way only they can really pull off. The Dublin band, made up of Grian Chatten, Carlos O’Connell, Conor Curley, Conor Deegan, and Tom Coll, have moved well past the easy post-punk tag at this point. Live, the newer Romance material feels bigger, glossier, and stranger, but still grounded by the same nervous pulse that made people fall for them in the first place.
The Cleveland setlist pulled heavily from Romance and Skinty Fia, with “Romance,” “Jackie Down the Line,” “Televised Mind,” “Roman Holiday,” “Big Shot,” “Death Kink,” “Sundowner,” “It’s Amazing to Be Young,” “Big,” “A Hero’s Death,” “Here’s the Thing,” “Bug,” “Nabokov,” “Boys in the Better Land,” and “Favourite” all landing before the encore. They closed with “In the Modern World,” “Desire,” “I Love You,” and “Starburster,” which is about as clean a reminder as any that Fontaines D.C. are not really interested in staying one kind of band.
